Jerome, Scholarship and the Deuterocanonical Books
In an earlier episode, Dr. Erik Estrada claimed that it is almost virtually impossible to root out the idea from scholarship that Jerome rejected the Deuterocanonical books. In this episode, Dr. Estrada explains why so few scholars know about Jerome’s final position on the canonicity of the Deuterocanonical books. He traces the historical process beginning from the fourth century to the present so that as a result, there are very few introductions to the Bible which acknowledge Jerome’s acceptance of these books.
